摘要
Frequency Domain Reciprocal Modulation (FDRM), originally developed by T. D. Williams [1, 2], is an enhanced method of modulation to complement Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) techniques. FDRM was proposed to solve the problem of very fast dynamic multipath distortion in wireless communication environments. However, one of its main problems is that the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is much higher than that of traditional single carrier/OFDM systems [3]. In this paper, clipping and peak windowing methods are investigated as means of reducing the PAPR of FDRM systems. A comparison of out-of-band radiation and the influence of power amplifier distortion on out-of-band radiation for these two reduction methods are discussed. Simulation results show that peak windowing provides better PAPR reduction than clipping.
