Laser-fluorescence detection of I-127 and I-129 iodine isotope mixture using a He-Ne laser

摘要
A method for measuring the concentration of I-129 isotope mixed with I-127 isotope is proposed. The proposed method implies the use of a frequency-tunable He-Ne laser (633 nm) and variation of the temperature of iodine isotope vapor mixture. The limiting I-129 : I-127 concentration ratio that can be measured by the proposed method is not worse than 3 x 10(-3). The proposed technique can be employed for technological applications related to the recycling of waste nuclear fuel on radiochemistry plants, as well as for the ecological monitoring of the atmosphere.
