Evolution of charge layers during thermal poling of silica fibres

摘要
Evolution of charge layers during thermal poling of silica fibres is revealed by the in situ measurement of the linear electro-optic coefficients. Competition between the shielding field and the ionization field is described. The third order nonlinearity of the fibre core is also studied before and after poling.
