The CREM method in studies of molecular dynamic of steroid radicals.: Anisotropic spectra of polycrystalline 5α-cholestan-3-one

The paper presents the application of the computer resolution enhancement method CREM for interpretation of the anisotropic EPR spectra and for investigating of molecular dynamics on the example of the simulated spectrum of alanine and spectrum of polycrystalline 5alpha-cholestan-3-one. The experimental spectra could be analysed only after CREM processing. The main values of the tensor of g factor and hyperfine splitting were determined. The temperature dependencies did not reveal significant changes in the molecular dynamics of the compound studied in the temperature range considered, which was consistent with high stability of the generated radicals. The type of radical formed in the 5a-cholestan-3-one was established.
