An Oval-Shaped Broadband ±45° Dual-Polarized Base Station Antenna For 2G/3G/LTE Applications

摘要
A broadband oval-shaped dual-polarized base station antenna is proposed for 2G/3G/LTE applications. The radiator of the proposed antenna is comprised of two orthogonal oval-shaped dipoles, with one places in +45 degrees and the other in -45 degrees, each dipole is made up of an oval-shaped ring and several thin strip line. To widen the impedance bandwidth, an arc-shaped feeding structure is adopted for feeding the radiator, four triangle-like parasitic elements are adopted which locate between two adjacent dipoles. A prototype of the presented antenna is designed, fabricated, and tested. The simulated results show a broadband impedance bandwidth of 47.7% for vertical bar S-11 vertical bar< -15 dB at both ports, port to port isolation > -25 dB, a stable radiation pattern with the half-power beam-width (HPBW) 67 degrees +/- 3 degrees at H-plane and V-plane, and a stable antenna gain of 8.5 +/- 0.3 dBi from 1.67 GHz to 2.72 GHz. Moreover, simulation results have a good agreement with measurement ones.
