摘要
With this special issue we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Journal of Moral Education. Since this coincides with the approaching millennium, it is fitting to offer the Journal's readers both a review of and consideration of prospects for moral education, from the 20th into the 21st century. Indeed, as the only international interdisciplinary journal in the field, JME is in a unique position to reflect and influence research, curriculum development and evaluation in moral education and moral development across the lifespan. As an introduction to the 25th anniversary issue, it therefore seems appropriate first to review the history of the Journal and its contribution to moral education. This sets the framework for the rationale for and comment on this special issue, and finally an overview and prospect for some future directions.
