摘要
The ever growing economy in India with its rising population, improving living standards is witness to a growing appetite for quality and quantity of energy services. The goal set by nation is to achieve renewable energy generation of of 175 GW by 2022. This presents the power system planners with a challenge to ensure access for prosumers to modern energy which is environmentally, institutionally and economically sustainable. The power sector in India is augmenting power evacuation and transmission infrastructure for distributed energy resources. This will have a positive effect on Indian macroeconomic conditions and tapping of abundant indigenous renewable resources prevents revenue outflows for expensive alternate fuels. The integration of DG into low and medium voltage networks will have profound impact on the distribution system. Extensive study on the scheduling, financing, governance and operational aspects, governance and institutional mechanism formulating regulations for DER deployment, ecological and social aspects need to be done before finalizing the capacity and placement of Distributed Generation (DG). The existing distribution network should be planned, developed and operated in an optimal manner to accommodate the growth in penetration of DERs. The impact of DG placement and sizing on real and reactive power loss in the radial distribution network considering renewable energy technologies based smart grid is analysed in this paper. A smart DG deployment strategy for effective energy utilisation is proposed considering DER placement in smart grid.
