Statistical analysis of the FXLMS algorithm with a nonlinearity in the secondary-path

摘要
This paper presents a statistical analysis of the Filtered-X Least Mean Square (FXLMS) algorithm with a nonlinearity in the secondary path. The nonlinearity is a scaled error function and models the saturation behavior of the transducers and associated hardware. Deterministic nonlinear recursions are derived for the mean weight and mean square error (MSE) behavior for white gaussian inputs and slow adaptation. Monte Carlo simulations show excellent agreement with the behavior predicted by the theoretical models. The analytical results suggest small nonlinear effects have a significant impact on the converged MSE.
