摘要
Female labor in the USSR industries during the NEP years (by Tatyiana Okorotchkova) looks into the tendencies in female employment during the 1920s in Soviet Russia. These tendencies had been shaped to a certain degree by the efforts of party-based institutions of "Women's councils" in order to put into practice communist doctrine of working women liberation. However, these efforts had been strongly resisted by a combination of practical needs of the regime to industrialize the country by any means, by stubbornness of deeply rooted social attitudes, and a lack of resources, especially in outlying regions of the USSR. Stalin-led 'revolution from above' of the 1930s brought to an end both the "Women's councils" and libertarian practices of the communists.
