摘要
The objective of this research is to investigate a heat build-up of industrial solid tires, size of 600-9, widely used in Thailand. The work was separated into three parts. First part, the mechanical properties related to heat generating in rubber, i.e. compressive stress-strain, heat build-up and hysteresis loop of rubber specimens was investigated. Second part, a modified formulation of rubber compound was formulated to reduce heat build-up of the outer section of solid tire. The test specimens of this rubber compound formulation were made and tested to compare with the results in first part. Third part, solid tire size 6.00-9 following a modified formulation obtained from second part were made and tested on drum in order to study the temperature rising and heat buildup comparing to the selected industrial solid tires. When the mechanical properties of each solid tire were compared, it was found that the formulated rubber compounds provided better results than some of the manufactured brand name tires. The results in this study showed good quality of the formulated solid tire which can be the guideline to improve the blowout resistance of solid tire.
