摘要
Induced decision trees are usually pruned after their formation to remove those data attributes which are not significantly related to the decision. This paper shows that pruning which considers the cost of information, as well as its significance, produces less costly decision trees. In contrast. stopping the induction process an the basis of the cost of information is shown to be a poor strategy.
