Some new organotin(IV) complexes:: synthesis and characterization by means of IR, 1H-, 13C-NMR and FAB-mass spectral studies

摘要
Tri-n-butyltin(IV) complexes, containing Schiff bases, of the types [(sb) Bu-3(n) Sn(L)] [where sb = Schiff bases; salicylidene-4-methyl-1-aminobenzene (p-smabH), salicylidene-3-nitro-1-aminobenzene (snabH), 3-nitrobenzylidene-thiosemi-carbazide (nbts) and L=gamma -picoline (gamma-pic), pyridine (py), quinoline (qui), p-hydroxybenzaidehyde (p-hbaH), p-hydroxyacctophenone (p-haphcH), thiophenol (thiophH)] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and spectral (IR, H-1, C-13-NMR and FAB-mass) studies. These compounds are found to be coloured viscous liquids and are soluble in common organic solvents. On the basis of these studies the coordination site(s) are confirmed and their structures are also proposed tentatively.
