Using Super SBM Model for ranking: A case study of banks in Vietnam

All industries are affected by finance factors and the first factor to evaluate the development of a country must be its financial resource in which the banking sector development plays a significant role. The bank is seen as the lifeblood of an economy, an intermediary activity associated with the movement of the entire economy and covering all socioeconomic activities. The research calculates the performance of Vietnamese banks in order to rank decision-making units (.DMUs) in progress of business movement through Super SBM Model. The Super SBM model can measure the super-efficiency of variables with the maximum value higher than 1. The result of the empirical researching of input and output factors shows scores of banks over periods and it that VIB Bank with its scores upper 1.527207 stay in the rank of the top bank in Vietnam over the period 2013 to 2016.
