摘要：

We comment on the comparison made between the Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method (SBFEM) and the Rayleigh-Ritz method (RRM) in the paper by Liu et al. We demonstrate that their results obtained using the SBFEM are incorrect, leading to false conclusions about both the efficiency and accuracy of this method. After correcting their results we find that both methods are equally accurate, while the SBFEM is significantly more efficient. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
