FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF BULGARIA

The paper presents a brief theoretical overview of foreign direct investments (FDI) and their significance for the economic development of Bulgaria, and then shifts the focus onto their positive and negative effects on the country's economy. The methodology employed in the research data collection is that of the statistical and survey methods on the basis of which examined has been the impact of FDI on the economic indicators of gross domestic product and rate of unemployment. Specific recommendations have been offered as to a potential increase in the foreign investment inflow into Bulgaria.
