Rankings of Graduate Programs in Accounting: review of scientific literature in management accounting (2000-2009)

This research describes the characteristics of the production of teaching Postgraduate Programs - PPGCC, based on periodics, for a window of 10 years (2000-2009). From the analysis of 27 selected journals, a database was created based on the methodology proposed in the study by Wood et al. (2009). It was observed that the overall ranking PPGCC indicates of USP as the program that stood out by type of research strategy applied or subject area. The study also reveals that the type of research strategy is most used in the empirical database and the most researched subject area is followed by financial accounting (39%) them management accounting (17%). In 10 years of research, the area of management accounting has been explored by researchers from USP, FURB, UFMG, UNISINOS UFPE, UFRJ and UNB / UFPB / UFRN PPGCC since these are, respectively, in the following ranking positions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
