摘要
Increasing efficiencies at every stage of the process at Tofu Small Industry will optimize every component of production, yield good quality products, and give positive impact to the environment. Tofu small industry has been closely related to wastewater treatment before disposal into environment. Using an anaerobic method, the wastewater can be converted into biogas. Unfortunately, waste processing approach before its disposal into the environment has disadvantages. These disadvantages can be approached by a combination of clean production application and wastewater processing product. The production process in a company does not only result in the preferrable end product, but also provide non product output. This non product output may take the forms of energy, and water used for the production process but it cannot be the desired end product. Therefore, rather than obtaining added value, it tends to cause cost inefficiency for the industry. One of the concepts that aim to improve the efficient use of raw materials, auxiliary materials and energy at all stages of production and waste minimization is a cleaner production concept. The research was done to design the implementation of the cleaner production concept in Tofu Small Industry in Adiwerna Tegal. The study was conducted by measuring mass balance at each stage of process and applying plumbing system and biogas fired furnace for cooking. The comparison demonstrated that water used in Tofu Small Industry was 18.5-35.41% less than that of the previous result. The results of redesign process were the electrical energy saving at the pump tobe 60%-77% using water roof tank. The saving energy was found to be 84.5% compared to the previous furnace.
