Stress and strain controlled cyclic undrained tests on soils

To compare the liquefaction potential obtained from stress and strain controlled cyclic undrained tests and to evaluate the application of strain-controlled test, a series of stress and strain controlled cyclic undrained tests was performed on various kinds of sands using triaxial and torsional test apparatuses. On the basis of the results of strain-controlled liquefaction tests, the flow or liquefaction potential of any soil material could be estimated by performing the strain-controlled test.
