Using student scholarship to develop student research and writing skills

摘要
We illustrate the use of psychology student publications for teaching (a) principles in experimental methodology, (b) the use and interpretation of statistical tests, and (c) the quality and format of American Psychological Association (APA) writing style. We present several exercises for each of these topical areas using published examples of student scholarship as teaching tools. We also identify published instances of errors in design, statistical use, and APA style. We contend that using students' scholarly publications can promote and reinforce development of research and writing skills that combine active participation and critical thinking.
