Phase separation in the V-doped La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 perovskite

摘要
The effects of V doping, y, on the magnetic and the transport properties of La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 manganites have been investigated. The compounds with 0.10 <= y <= 0.20 exhibit two distinct magnetic transitions, indicating a reentrant character. A resistivity upturn is observed in the reentrant magnetic samples. The V doping into the Mn sites results in an increase of the ferromagnetic insulating (FMI) phase clue to the localization of charge carriers and the FM metallic (FMM) clusters. The heavily V-doped manganites are found to have the characteristics of a reentrant magnetic system with electronic phase separation into magnetically inhomogeneous regions characterized by FMI, FMM and antiferromagnetic phases at tow temperatures.
