Design of 2-D IIR filters with canonical signed-digit coefficients using genetic algorithm

摘要
In this paper, genetic algorithm is used to design 2-D octagonal symmetric IIR filters. The transfer function has non-separable numerator and separable denominator polynomials in z(1) and z(2), and, the designed filters have canonical signed-digit (CSD) coefficients. A new CSD number restoration technique is presented to ensure that the algorithm generates CSD coefficients with the pre-specified wordlength and maximum number of non-zero digits.
