摘要
This paper presents the result of investigation of forces acting on the downstream vertical walls after a dam break over a dry horizontal bed. The problem was solved using the weakly compressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method in two dimensions. The total force and the pressure distribution along the wall as functions of time were evaluated for three different positions of the downstream vertical wall. These results are compared and differences and similarities are discussed. All the relevant physical quantities are transformed into non-dimensional variables for better comparison with results from other works.
