Stochastic Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in an Optical Fiber

摘要
We report transverse structure in the temporal dynamics of stimulated Brillouin scattering from single-mode pump pulses propagating through a two-mode fiber. Comparison of experiments and numerical simulations clarify the roles of thermal and pump fluctuations.
