Two-component periodic layered structures for elastic wave attenuation

摘要
Using remarkable properties of Chebyshev polynomials and assumptions concerning impedances of input media, output media and layers, a special approximation for the normalized transmittance of two-component periodic layered structures is derived. This approximation allows predicting attenuation properties of such structures in a rather wide spectral region. Analytical formulas enabling estimations of positions of transmittance maxima and the low-frequency boundary of attenuation spectral region are obtained. One of the applications of the results of this paper might be in the protection of human body against blasts.
