Electrochemical properties of the interfaces in sensors based on a LaF3 single crystal

Interphase processes at the LaF3-Me interface (Me = Te, Se, Tl) are studied by cyclic and inversion voltammetry. The influence of the potential that corresponds to the anodic generation of an intermediate phase at the LaF3-Me interface (M = Sn, Bi, Sb) on the kinetics of the phase formation and the interface regeneration is discussed. Linear regions are discovered in the dependence of the peak currents of the cathodic curves on the charge consumed during phase generation. It is shown that the two-phase LaF3-Sb interface can be transformed into a three-phase interface, thus forming an oxygen-sensitive element.
