摘要
Torrenticolid mites is a distinctive and a common component in running water in the Palaearctic, and often dominate in fast flowing streams in mountainous areas. The present study is based on material collected in 2021 in Bhutan. In total 17 species of the two torrenticolid genera Torrenticola Piersig, 1896 and Neoatractides Lundblad, 1941 are reported in this study. A detailed description is given for each species, facilitating their identification in future systematic surveys of Himalayan torrenticolid mites. In addition, seven species new to science of the genus Torrenticola are described, i.e., T. longiseta sp. nov., T. brachypalpis sp. nov., T. trongsaensis sp. nov.., T. dbgurungi sp. nov.., T. himalayica sp. nov., T. ancylopalpis sp. nov. T. megapalpis sp. nov.). Furthermore, one new species of the genus Neoatractides is described in this paper, i.e., N. (Allotorenticola) tashiwangmoi sp. nov.
