LOCAL+ - a recyclable wooden modular building with a sustainable energy and living space concept In the LOCAL+ project, a recyclable timber modular building with an innovative living space concept is planned and implemented. The aim of this concept is to reduce the constantly increasing demand for living space through a house-in-house concept. As energy concept, the project not only looks at the individual building, but also develops an innovative and sustainable energy concept for the neighbourhood, taking into account the existing building. A central component of the TGA concept is an ice storage tank, PVT and a heat pump, hydrogen system with an intelligent control strategy. A part of the new building (Design Challenge DC) will be presented in Wuppertal as house demonstration unit (HDU). The hygrothermal simulation of HDU is performed using WUFI software. The simulation result of HDU is presented in the article to identify moisture damage, wood rot and mold growth. Since the proposed clay modules will be used as moisture buffers, this issue should be addressed to identify potential damage.
