α-Al2O3 and TiB particles retnforced aluminum matrix composites fabricated by means of exothermic dispersion

摘要
In situ Al-based composites reinforced by alpha -Al2O3 and TiB2 particles were fabricated by means of exothermic dispersion reaction processing method. The thermodynamic and kinetic mechanisms of reactions have been analyzed. In Al-TiO2 system Al3Ti and alpha -Al2O3 form and in Al-TiO2-B system Al3Ti, alpha -Al2O3 and TiB2 form. Al3Ti phase was eliminated completely when the mole ratio of B/TiO2,is about equal to 2. The effects of heating rate and mole ratio of B/TiO2 on combustion temperature and bulk shrinkage were discussed as well.
