The role of Tsiolkovsky in cosmonautics overshadows another side of his creation. He was a social and humanitarian reformer with irrational and utopian pathos who intended to change the life of mankind and even the type of human being itself. Tsiolkovsky and Swedenborg had similar features as creators of imaginary world. The inclination of the Russian mind to irrational projects is not unique although it is different from Western irrationalism which remains within the bounds of literary creation as a rule (Swedenborg). It is not enough for a Russian (Tsiolkovsky). He wants to apply rational logic to social life. But such rationalism leads to irrational consequences.
