A High Efficiency Algorithm of Light Stripe Center Extraction in 3D Scanning System

摘要
A high efficiency algorithm is proposed to extract the center of line-structured light stripe in 3D scanning system. The algorithm is based on the property of the light stripes' non normal distribution. The method gets the light stripe area based on OTSU threshold, and then applies low pass filter and power transformation to decrease the error caused by image noise and non-normal distribution of stripe intensity. It uses adaptive threshold method to obtain the light stripes' gray edge, and extracts the sub-pixel center position of light stripe by gray barycenter. Further improvement greatly improves the efficiency of the algorithm. Experiment results show the proposed method is significantly more rapid, accurate and reliable than previous attempts.
