摘要
Sustainable consumption nowadays is a very important scientific and political topic around the world as well as consumer behaviour, which is never losing its topicality on changing economic conditions. The aim of the paper is to analyse consumption patterns in Europe from sustainability perspective and compare them with consumer behaviour in Latvia. Consumer behaviour in 30 European countries (surveyed 5000 respondents) with particular emphasis on the questions including sustainable consumption aspects was analysed in the frame of the study of COnsumer BEhaviouR Erasmus Network (COBEREN). The survey was based on Five-point Likert Scale and the results were analysed taking demographic parameters and countries as indicators of behavioural difference. The results of the survey show that positive attitude towards sustainable consumption strongly prevails over the unsustainable choices, thus, reflecting the gap between attitude and behavioural intention to purchase sustainable products.
