摘要
The ability to display many overlaid data sets is a long-standing problem in the field of visualization. An overview is given on the University of North Carolina's work in this area. First, the argument for preliminary successes with and reasons for the eventual downfall of the initial approach is presented. Second, the key concept that enables successful techniques is described.
