摘要：
A Grid-Based File Storage System (GBFSS) is put forward, which is applied to constructing digital libraries. The design and realization of GBFSS has been described and also the analysis has been made between GBFSS and existing storage systems, such as NAS and SAN. GBFSS can integrate all distributed and heterogeneous computing resources into a unified storage system, and provide a uniform, transparent and secure access and management. Different level of QoS (Quality of Service) can also been delivered according to different users' requirements. The result shows that GBFSS is an effective and low-cost way to construct digital libraries and solve other problems concerning mass data access and storage. In follows, the paper will describe the main infrastructure of the File Storage System and main modules in the system.
