A factorization and least-squares method for multi-pass sensor alignment calibration

摘要
Least-squares and Kalman filter algorithms are developed to optimally combine spacecraft sensor alignment calibration estimates from several calibration scenarios to produce a composite estimate that is of much greater accuracy. This is useful in systems where individual estimates may be of limited accuracy or not completely identifiable due to operational or physical constraints on calibration maneuvers or due to thermal variations. The effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated via simulation results using both idealized and realistic attitude maneuvers.
