The statistics of offshore safety

Lord Cullen's report of the Public Inquiry into the Piper Alpha disaster recommended that data should be recorded on incidents which cause or could cause injury and made additional recommendations regarding data for offshore hydrocarbon releases. Analyses of these data, followed by appropriate actions, could result in improved safety performance, according to a recent HSE report.
