The effect of doping La3+ on structure and luminescent properties of Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors

摘要
La3+-doped strontium silicate phosphors, Sr1.995-1.5xLaxSiO4:0.005Eu(2+), have been prepared via a solid-state reaction method. The as-prepared samples have been characterized by XRD and spectrophotometer, respectively. The XRD result shows that doping La3+ results in the phase transformation (beta-Sr2SiO4 -> alpha'-Sr2SiO4). The emission spectrum of the un-doped sample contains two distinct single bands, which come from Eu2+ on the two kinds of Sr2+ sites in the host of phosphor. The two single bands merge together with the increasing of La3+. Moreover, the CIE chromaticity coordinates of emission spectrum move to green region with the increasing of La3+. Doping La3+ shows a potential for improving the performance of Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l. All rights reserved.
