Poly(p-phenylene vinylene)(PPV)and its derivatives have special optoelectronics properties and have aroused great interest in the world as excellent electroluminescent materials up to now. In this paper, a series of soluble PPV derivatives were synthesized by dehydrochlorination reaction with p-methoxy phenol as raw materials. The results showed that attaching the longer alkoxy-substitutes in benzene ring or applying copolymerization could improve the solubility of PPV derivatives and DMSO as a strong polar solvent could increase the yield of polymer. The structure of polymer was indentified by UV/Vis, IR and H-1-NMR.
