Ground State Study Of Half-Metallic Ferromagnetism In The Half-Heusler Compound Gekca Using Density Functional Theory

The electronic and magnetic properties of the compound GeKCa with half-Heusler structure is investigated using full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) based basis functions within generalized gradient approximation based on density functional theory. The results obtained were in agreement with previously calculated experimental and theoretical results. The calculated density of states and band structures shows the half-metallic ferromagnet character.
