摘要
It is very interesting to examine the availability of a superheated superconducting granule (SSG) as a real-time calorimeter measuring a deposit energy through the flip-flop process. We have studied the process arising in tin granules larger than 20 mu m in diameter at liquid-helium temperatures. It was confirmed this time that the flip signals in the tin granule used become smaller and smaller to disappear at a critical external magnetic field determined from the superconducting field H-c. This fact is theoretically expected by considering that the magnetization curves demonstrate the existence of an intermediate state. The result excludes the availability of the tin granule as a real-time calorimeter. There still remains a possibility for the flip-flop effect to appear in tin granules much smaller than 20 mu m in diameter. Another candidate material for a manifestation of the effect is aluminium as obeying the global-heating picture.
