Precise determinations of the magnitudes of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix elements vertical bar V-cb vertical bar and vertical bar V-ub vertical bar are crucial for testing the mechanism of CP violation in the Standard Model and searching for hints of New Physics in B decays. In this article, we review recent Belle measurements of these two quantities.
