This paper discusses the question of how isotopic disorder affects the position of the thermal-conductivity maximum of germanium. The discussion is in terms of a Callaway-type model. Experimental data on the thermal conductivity of a natural Ge crystal and of highly enriched Ge-70 crystals are analyzed. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-7834(99)01107-7].
