摘要
This paper presents an experimental study on the compressive strength of concrete cylinders reinforced with expanded metal meshes. The investigation aims at comparing the compressive strength of concrete specimens strengthened with expanded metal meshes with different orientations. A series of compression tests were performed to obtain the structural performance on jacketed specimens, and then compare these with the unreinforced concrete cylinders. Expanded metal tubes were fabricated using circular geometries with two cell orientations. The results showed that cell orientation enhance the compressive strength of the specimens.
