摘要
Objective: to identify which resources and organizational capabilities are considered as potential sources of competitive advantages for industries located in the southern region of Brazil. Methodology/ Approach: Data collection was carried out from a survey composed of 58 South Brazilian industries. The data were treated with Average Ranking to present the ranking of resources and capabilities of the companies in the sample. Originality/relevance: The study corroborates the understanding of the relationship between the resource-based view theory and the main competitive advantages perceived by Brazilian industries. Main results: With regard to human capital resources and capabilities, the greatest concern refers to the organizational climate, given its impact on the sustainable growth of industries. As for organizational resources and capabilities, respect for customers and market reputation stood out, highlighting such items as the main goals of companies. Theoretical/methodological contributions: In summary, it was identified that there is not a main resource, but a set of resources that complement each other and promote competitive advantages for the surveyed industries.
