This paper aims to systematize two methods of the contemporary theoretical scene: narration and speculation. To do so, the article begins by exposing the difficulties of narration in contemporary sensibility from texts by Amitav Ghosh, Mark Bould and Gabriel Giorgi. From this starting point, the first section sets out a definition of method as narrative from Anna Tsing's theoretical perspective. The second section presents a definition of method as speculation from Quentin Meillassoux ' s theoretical perspective. The contrast between both methodological proposals allows us to understand some current challenges of conceptual work.
