摘要
In this study, we investigated the antibacterial activity, in vitro alpha -amylase inhibition assay, and in vivo anti -diabetic efficacy of hydroalcoholic extract of Mangifera indica leaves. Male rabbits served as the subjects of an in vivo experiment investigating the impact of Mangifera indica leaf extract on blood glucose levels. A one-way ANOVA investigation revealed significant differences between the diabetes control group and the group that got the conventional treatment. Several concentrations of Mangifera indica leaf extract in hydroalcoholic solution (100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 mu g/mL) were used to evaluate alpha amylase inhibitory assay. The antibacterial efficacy of hydroalcoholic Mangifera indica leaf extract was also measured against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. During the 14 -days of research period, a dose of 2 g/kg of body weight in hydroalcoholic extracts of Mangifera indica did not cause any morbidity. The chemically created diabetic rabbits showed a significant rise in fasting blood glucose levels when compared to the healthy control group (alloxan). When compared to diabetes controls over a 14 -day period, the hydroalcoholic extract (500 mg/kg) significantly decreased blood glucose levels (P <= 0.05), according to the results of the post hoc analysis. In vitro results showed that reference drug demonstrated an inhibition of 88.56% at the same concentration, but the maximum inhibition of 80.17% was observed at 500 mu g/mL. The 50 mu L hydroalcoholic extract of Mangifera indica had the zone of inhibition at its greatest (12.95 +/- 1.5 mm) against Staphylococcus aureus, whereas it showed a maximum zone of inhibition (11.68 +/- 1.3) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The findings showed that hydroalcoholic extract of Mangifera indica have significant anti -diabetic potential and it effectively inhibits the growth of bacteria and spoilage microorganisms of varying intensity.
