Identification of Prognostic Long Non-Coding RNAs and Molecular Subtypes Related to the Hippo-Yes-Associated Protein Signalling in Osteosarcoma

Objective: The Hippo signalling pathway is involved in cell proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and metastasis of osteosarcoma (OS). The purpose of the study is to explore the prognostic role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) related to Hippo signalling pathway and identify the molecular subtypes of OS. Methods: Gene expression data of OS were obtained from the TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) and GEO databases. The cor-relation between lncRNAs and Hippo signalling pathway-related genes was investigated. Next, prognostic lncRNAs were selected through univariate Cox regression analysis, followed by disease subtype analysis and prognostic model construction.Results: A total of 57 lncRNAs significantly correlated with Hippo signalling pathway-related genes and prognosis were then screened. A total of 16 independent prognostic lncRNAs were obtained, including eight lncRNAs with optimised lncRNAs com-bination. A prognostic score (PS) model was then constructed. Finally, a nomogram survival model for independent survival prognostic factors was constructed. Patient's age, tumour metastasis and PS status were identified as the three factors with sig-nificant independent prognostic correlation.Conclusions: Eight Hippo signalling pathway-related lncRNAs, such as ABHD11-AS1, SPACA6P-AS and SNHG5, may serve as novel prognostic factors for OS.
