摘要
Finding new alternative pathways to decouple the production of amino acids from the requirement of sugar feedstock would significantly increase the overall sustainability of such a process. In this issue of Chem Catalysis, the Sieber group describes an elegant approach to the preparation of alanine starting from methanol.
