Linguistic ideologies. An analytical tool to influence the revitalization of the Basque language

In this article we want to underline the usefulness of linguistic ideologies from the point of view of the revitalization of the Basque language. In the first place we analyze the concept of linguistic ideologies; secondly, we present a series of ideological frameworks that can condition the authority of a speaker in the case of minority languages in general and Basque language specifically; thirdly, we mention some obstacles that the development of Basque may have within these linguistic ideologies and discuss the need for new ideological frameworks. Lastly, this paper also focuses on the need for researchers to deepen the analysis of linguistic ideologies.
