摘要
Smart cities will provide more efficient, green, intelligent, and safer environment. Among the traffic accidents involving pedestrians, the most accidents occur on pedestrian crossings. This research aims to use Internet of Things (IoT) and other smart devices to develop a smart pedestrian crossing that more efficient and safer, especially the mobility and visually impaired. Firstly, we selected IoT and some other smart devices that can assistant pedestrians and alert drivers. Secondly, we redesigned the indication method of LED light and the prompt process of audible pedestrian bollards to be more helpful for the mobility and visually impaired. Moreover, virtual reality (VR) was used to simulate the smart pedestrian crossing. Finally, we provide a smart space design concept of the smart pedestrian crossing.
