摘要
The exploration of sustainable materials for nanotechnology will provide biomimicking excellent properties and process combination, respectively. The application of marine plants (MP) for biological applications is receiving a great attention nowadays due to the availability of active compounds in MP. The synergistic effect of nanoparticles synthesis through MP mediation and their potential drug delivery (using fibers/scaffolds) studies are not explored much so far. In the present study, the preparation, characterization, and in-vitro biological evaluation of PCL nanofibers loaded with silver nanoparticles obtained from Rhizophora mucronata mangrove plant leaf extracts were studied. In vitro antibacterial testing against Proteus mirablis, Bacillus cereus, Enterococcus sp., MRSA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus were carried out and kanamycin (50 mu g/ml) was used as a positive control. Potential antioxidant properties were established using scavengers such as DPPH, nitrous oxide and hydrogen peroxide at 150 mu g/ml concentrations. The cell viability and proliferation of the AgNPs and AgNPs loaded nanofibers were evaluated using an MTT assay against the A549 Human Lung cancer cells. The novel AgNPs loaded nanofibers provide relatively rapid and accelerating wound healing activities in in vitro condition. Further, this study shows that AgNPs loaded nanofibers can act as a promising sustainable material for the development of improved bandage materials with an accelerated wound healing property.
